ICP: from 1970 to present. In 1970, after circa ten-years of experience working at an international press agency, which handled the exclusive European distribution of the King Features Syndicate, and after having been the Italian representative of London-based Colour Library International, Ersilio Marosa founded International Colour Press (now known as ICP).
The company quickly positioned itself as the Italian leader in the distribution and sale of photographic images.
Alessandro Marosa has headed the firm since 1997. His goal — along with that of the entire ICP staff — is to continue to strengthen the firm’s position by offering its clients new services combined with cutting-edge technologies and new ways of benefiting from its products. ICP prides itself on offering an ever-expanding range of brands and collections.
In 2001 — with the growth and expansion of its range of services — International Colour Press changed its name to ICP and adopted the slogan “Everything Imaginable” to highlight ICP’s ability to meet client requirements.
ICP continues to offer an ever increasing, invincible, variety of products and services including:
- rights-managed images: ICP manages the rights for clients and photographers.
- royalty-free images: buy once, use as many times as you wish.
- subscription: pay a subscription fee and download the photos you need from the hundreds of thousands of images available. Or create your own microstock, a new pre-paid solution that allows you to create your own collection from within a group of selected professional images.
In 2003, ICP was proud to be the first Italian company in the industry able to offer a complete and efficient e-commerce service, allowing users to purchase images on-line and download files immediately. ICP has, over the years, enhanced this service, which now offers such features as providing the details of your previous purchases (among which you can search through at any time) as well as payments made.
ICP continues to increase its range of solutions for those in the communications fields, by offering illustrations, multimedia material, animation, films, multi-layered digital images and much more.
To satisfy client requirements, ICP constantly expands its portfolio of brands, and thus frequently updates its catalogues with the new collections destined for use in communications, advertisements, publishing, packaging and the Internet.
ICP revamped its web site in 2007. Today the site features a Chinese version, in addition to its English and Italian versions.
Among other novelties, ICP has improved the lightbox feature to simplify your search by creating the memo lightbox. The company has also created the memo shopping cart, which reminds you of the items you have selected to purchase during your search or which you have chosen from the lightbox. Both the memo lightbox and the memo shopping cart are located in the column on the left-hand side of each page.
